About Me

I have recently completed a 4 year sandwich degree course
at Sheffield Hallam University. I achieved a 1st Class Honours for
BSc (Hons) Computing (Visualisation).

During my industrial placement year I worked at Lightmaker.

The skills I enjoy using most are 3D Studio Max, Flash, Photoshop, XHTML and CSS. Web design, Illustration and eLearning all interest me greatly.

In my spare time I enjoy walking, caving, snowboarding and playing guitar with friends, reading and chocolate.

Details about my qualifications, experience, work experience and skills follow.

Experience

Lightmaker: Industrial Placement July 2005 - July 2006

During my year working at the web design company Lightmaker, I gained confidence
in applying my software skills to a broad range of clients’ websites and meeting
deadlines within teams of 5 or more.

This gave me a broad commercial and organisational awareness of the web industry
and market.

Final Year Project 2007

I focused on merging 3D into Flash without sacrificing web accessibility
to specifically help promote outdoor environments and facilities.

This involved researching good usability practices and how to make
Flash thoroughly accessible.

Hallam Volunteering April 2005

In my second year at Sheffield Hallam University I participated in the Hallam Award.

This involved helping Rotherham College students with their 3D models and
an animation video production for the “3D Project” using Blender.

The animations were then shown on the night of the Love Bytes Premier 2005
in The Showroom Cinema.

This was organised by the Sheffield Hallam Student’s Union. I enjoyed meetingthe
students each week. We learnt a lot from each other and were proud of the results.
